Américas

Pensemos: si la gente negra viviendo en las Américas es llamada afroamericana porque si bien ha nacido en el continente americano sus orígenes provienen del continente africano, lo mismo que sucede con otros grupos etnicos, digamos por ejemplo los asiáticoamericanos; ¿no tendría sentido que a los blancos viviendo en América se los llame europeoamericanos y que aquellos a quienes llamamos nativoamericanos --que son los descendientes de los pueblos originales del continente americano-- sean los únicos americanos?

Let's think: if black people living in the Americas are called African-Americans because even though they were born in the American continent their origins trace all the way back to the African continent, and the same happens with other ethnic groups, let's say for instance Asian-Americans; wouldn't it make sense that white people living in America were called European-Americans, and that those we call Native-Americans --who are the descendants of the original population of the American continent-- were the only Americans?
