Emergente - Emerging

Crear es dar a luz nuevas cosas y seres con una fuerza vital que crece mas allá de los límites existentes y de los parámetros conocidos, y es por esa razón que espero nunca dejar de ser una artista emergente. Dejo el arte consagrado para que los académicos, críticos e intelectuales cataloguen y regurgiten y vomiten a otros en nombre de lo que la historia oficial ha dado en llamar, con mayúscula, Arte. Aprendo, me inspiro, y respeto artistas del pasado y del presente, pero personalmente estoy más preocupada por lo que aun no se ha creado; lo que re-emerge desde las infinitas posibilidades que nacen de nuestra realidad constantemente cambiante y de nuestra habilidad de readaptarnos inventando nuevos medios y significados. Las clasificaciones y teorías vendrán mucho después, y cuando lo hagan, no va a importarme.

To create is to give birth to new things and beings with a living force that grows beyond existing boundaries and outside known parameters, and it’s for that reason that I hope I never stop being an emerging artist. I leave the established art for academics, critics and intellectuals to catalogue and regurgitate and vomit back to others in the name of what the official history has decided to call, with capital “a”, Art. I learn from, get inspired by, and give respect to the artists of the past and of the present, but personally I’m more concern about what hasn’t been yet created; what re-emerges from the limitless possibilities born from our constantly changing reality and our ability to readapt ourselves inventing new means and meanings. Classifications and theories will come much later, and when they do, I won’t care.
